Welcome to the Global Research Centre for Diverse Intelligences!
The quest to understand “intelligence” is one of the great scientific endeavours of our time. A transdisciplinary community is emerging posed to revolutionise our understanding of intelligence and its substrates.
Intelligence is a multifaceted concept treated by multiple disciplines but often independently from each other. Some understand intelligence as creativity, others as efficiency or rationality, and others simply as learning.
We aim to develop a ground-breaking framework (e.g., a unified theory of intelligence) that paves the way to the development of empirically tractable big ideas that cut across disciplines and sets the research agenda for the coming years. Among the disciplines at forefront of this initiative one will find animal cognition, behavioural neuroscience, artificial intelligence/machine learning, cognitive robotics and cognitive and computational neuroscience. But other disciplines such as behavioural genetics, astrophysics, plant science or art history can also contribute in important ways, thus making this endeavour one that can effectively bring together the technological, natural and social sciences and even establish connections with the fine arts.
The Global Research Centre for Diverse Intelligences aims to unite human/non-human, natural/artificial, and individual/collective intelligences under one enterprise to substantially advance and disseminate our understanding of Diverse Intelligences (DI), in an effort is Global, Transformative, Diverse, Collaborative, Open, and Inclusive.
